The Pride of Taiwan! Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails has been selected for the inaugur

Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails from Taiwan was selected to be displayed in the inaugural World Trails Film Festival hold by World Trails Network. The New Taipei City Government invited Qing-Yang Xiao, the world-class design master to direct a series of image films of Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails. The film became one of the six selected films including Jordan Trail(Jordan), Ride of the Dead (Mexico), Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails (Taiwan), This Is Not a Beautiful Hiking Video (US), Trail Hunter(South Africa), and Trilha Transcarioca(Brazil). The treasury secret of the west Pacific Ocean, the Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails, can be introduced to the world through the film.

The 7th World Trails Conference and the inaugural World Trails Film Festival took place from 26th to 29th of September in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This event has witnessed the major collaboration among the New Taipei City Government, Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association and Qing-Yang Xiao Studio. During the conference, the Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association was the one who promoted the Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails and presented paper dedicated for it. People from the world’s trail associations and hikers watched the film together, and it was largely acclaimed. They all expressed their wish to visit this beautiful cultural trail of Taiwan.

Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails features the cultural aspects where the ancestors in Taiwan entered the Tamsui-Kavalan mountain trail, incorporating elements such as traditional puppet show, Chinese Traditional music, eco-craft trail. Galeo Saintz, founding chair of World Trails Network, said, “We selected this film because we saw the people who love trail, construct and make it beautiful. Its unique aspect and culture, behind the scenes, what makes the trail beautiful and sustainable.”

Taiwan was once a critical stronghold on the map during the Age of Discovery. The Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails has taken on the development history of northern Taiwan and the cultural path connecting with the world. In the future, New Taipei City will offer diverse trail choices on the Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails, including casual level, challenging level and long-distance and endurance level. The aim is to make Tamsui-Kavalan Historical and Cultural Trails a must-go destination for tourists at home and abroad to know Taiwan better.
